Adventure Childrens Books Take Children To New Worlds
Adventure childrens books have long been a favorite of children of all ages and both sexes. Adventure tales can spark your children’s imaginations and inspire then to dream about what life can offer.
Adventure books can be about a young boy or girl taking amazing trips to faraway places one can only dream about. The books Harold and the Purple Crayon, The Chronicles of Narnia, and The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Perilous Journey are great examples of these kinds of adventures.
In Harold and the Purple Crayon a little boy named Harold can draw anything with his purple crayon and make it come to life. In a few of the stories he stands in a blank space and creates a whole world of excitement. Most children can day dream all day long about the things they would create and bring to life if they had a purple crayon like Harold’s.
In the chronicles of Narnia which has been turned into a successful movie series; four children of varying ages travel to another world. They travel through a wardrobe into a world taken over by an evil witch. While in this world they must fight to bring peace and order to the chaos she has caused.
By the second installment of this story the children have grown up. What has only been a few years for them has been thousands of years for the people of Narnia. Once again the children must summon the strength to fight for a world they have come to know as their own.
The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Perilous Journey is a book about Reynie, Kate, Sticky, and Constance. These four children are forced to go on a mission to find Mr. Benedict. Mr. Benedict was setting up a scavenger hunt for the children to celebrate their reunion and stepped into a trap his evil twin designed just for him.
They only have one week to find and free Mr. Benedict from Mr. Curtains trap. This will be their greatest challenge and along the way they will be reminded why they were brought together in the first place. This adventure takes place close to home, but the previous stories were far away from home.
Adventure childrens books can also take the form of fantasy or magic. The Star Wars and Star Trek stories take on a fantasy like form of adventure. In Harry Potter the stories take on magic as a form of adventure.
In The Star Wars double trilogy humans and other creatures of the galaxy fight a classic battle of good and evil. The good guys known as Jedi’s fight the bad guys known as separatist lead by Sith Lords. The Jedi fight using a good energy called the force while the Sith fight using the dark side of the force.
In Star Trek, Humans roam Space through different solar systems in search of other life forms. They meet them and add them to the Federation which is a coalition of different worlds seeking to live together in peace. Sometimes they encounter evil species that wish to destroy life on other planets and have to fight in the name of peace.
